The EnviroStars program has always been at the center of our universe, and now it’s official.
EnviroStars is featured in the Fremont Centrist, a news blog on what’s happening in that locus of cool, Fremont. The EnviroStars program offers 2-5 Stars to recognize the efforts of businesses that are going to the extra effort to reduce or manage their wastes, especially those hazardous to their employees or the environment.
We can’t say it any better than Jay McGrew of Superior Auto Service:
“It’s pretty easy, and it is a free program,” said Jay McGrew. His company, Superior Auto Service, Fremont’s complete auto repair shop that has 10 work bays and five ASE Master-Certified mechanics available to conduct repairs, received an EnviroStars 4-star certification a few years ago. While McGrew and his crew have made a serious commitment to maintaining a safe environment, he was surprised to find few other Fremont businesses have applied so far. In his case, the application process went smoothly, plus, he praised, “it’s not like they are going to write any citations.”
