A comprehensive recycling event scheduled for July 18 and targeting businesses in the Maple Valley-Covington area will accept numerous items – but not hazardous waste.
Businesses can drop off a wide array of unwanted items at the event for recycling, including: cardboard, cell phones, CD’s and videos, computers, plastics, scrap metal and pallets and more.
The event will be at Cedar Heights Middle School, 19640 SE 272nd St., Covington, and is open to Maple Valley and Covington businesses only. Businesses can view the event flyer at www.maplevalleywa.gov by navigating to the Calendar and clicking on July 18th.
Although hazardous waste will not be accepted at the July 18th event, there are options for businesses with hazardous materials to dispose. The Local Hazardous Waste Management Program has a Small Quantity Hazardous Waste Generators project for qualifying businesses to dispose of limited quantities of business hazardous waste. For information go to www.lhwmp.org or call the Business Waste Line at 206-263-8899.
A residential recycling collection event will be offered in the fall and household hazardous waste may be disposed of at Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Facilities, at the Auburn Supermall Wastemobile or other Wastemobile.
