Environmentally Sustainable EnviroStars businesses featured at Northwest Flower & Garden Show

Landscapers, garden designers use fewer chemicals for healthy, beautiful gardens

Several EnviroStars landscapers are making the garden magic happen at this year’s Northwest Flower & Garden show, running through Feb. 12 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle.

Gardens built by EnviroStars-certified companies are healthy and in tune with nature, thanks to the sustainable techniques these landscapers use.

“EnviroStar landscapers, nurseries and co-star partners have been a big part of the Northwest Flower and Garden Show,” said Laurel Tomchick, EnviroStars program manager. “The gardens are a great way to show how practices that don’t rely on pesticides keep families and the environment safer and healthier, and the gardens they have created for this show bring that home.”

The Northwest Flower & Garden show does not happen without the over 300 volunteers and experts that help put it together almost overnight. Featured EnviroStars landscapers and nurseries are:

EnviroStar Native Root Designs (nativerootsdesigns.com)

The garden “Winter’s Come and Gone – a Lullaby,” was created by Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association and designed by Five-Star EnviroStar Native Root Designs. The designer features birds in a child centered garden; both thrive in gardens that use fewer pesticides.

Co-Star partner Artistic Garden Concepts (artisticgardenconcepts.com)

Co-created “If I Write You a Song in the Garden Tonight,” a poetic retreat made sweeter knowing that less-toxic techniques sustain the garden.

 EnviroStar Swansons Nursery (swansonsnursery.com)
