Household Hazardous Products and Safer Alternatives Teacher Workshop

Date: Aug 10 for teachers of grades 4-6; Aug 11 for teachers of grades 6-12; Aug 13 optional tour of wastewater treatment plant
Time: Aug 10 and 11: 8am to 4pm; Aug 13: 9am to noon

Workshop participants receive the Hazards on the Homefront teacher guide; Green Cleaning Kit filled with safer products, a stipend for certified King County teachers upon completion of workshop objectives, and information on free follow-up classroom presentations and mini-grants.

Topics to be covered:
The workshop will include hands-on activities, demonstrations, and presentations from experts on household hazardous waste. Participants will become familiar with the concepts presented in the Hazards on the Homefront teacher guide related to household hazardous waste, learn to integrate activities from the guide into their curriculum, be ready to conduct three activities from the guide.
